The Big News from New York Fashion Week

Well, there was plenty… Cook-kid, Peter Do’s sophomore collection for Helmut Lang gave more promise of a revival than last season’s. Beyonce dressed like a space cowboy for the Luar show, and now everyone is talking about their bags. Proenza Schouler convinced us we should all be wearing scarves attached to our coats and Altuzarra convinced us that dressing like a clown could actually be chic. But someone I didn’t expect to notice? Tory Burch.

My impression of Tory Burch stems from the early oughts, when her medallion printed bags, Palm Springs-esq colorful prints and logo ballet flats were absolutely EVERYTHING. And then, they were so not. I haven’t thought much about her in the decade and a half since, until recently. A couple of years ago, her collections started getting attention again - as she moved from the super preppy styles that birthed the brand, into something… else. This season, a gorgeous collection may have secured her place back with the fashion cool kids.

What do you think? Can you get on board with Tory Burch being cool again or are you forever scarred by those ubiquitous flats from years ago…?? Check out the collection here and let me know in the comments!
